Open Riding at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds
Come enjoy Open Riding in the Horse Arena at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds.
Open Riding will be held on select Wednesdays through the summer in the Horse Arena from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Open riding will be held based on attendance. We need at least 10 people to RSVP by Tuesday evening – the night prior to open riding – on our Facebook Event.
Please follow our RRVF Equine Network Facebook page for updates, cancellations or changes due to other events happening on grounds.
$15.00/Rider – includes one horse
Ex: Rider and one horse is $15.00; Rider and two horses is $20.00
Payment: Cash & Credit Cards only – NO Checks
Current Coggins is required for all horses on grounds
Required Forms for Open Riding:
Forms can be downloaded using the buttons below, for easier check-in during open riding.
A negative Coggins test is required and will accompany any equine coming onsite.
Additional, all riders must sign both the Release of Liability and the Rules & Regulations forms PRIOR to using the facility. Signed forms will be kept on file for the season.
The Open Riding Form can be filled out ahead of open riding for easier check-in during open riding.

OPEN RIDING RULES & REGULATIONS:
We are strictly a DRUG FREE and NON-SMOKING FACILITY.
DRIVING: Please drive slowly! Speed limit is 10 mph on all of the Red River Valley Fair Association grounds, unless stated otherwise.
SAFETY: Your safety, the safety of others and the safety of the equine is a prime concern at the Red River Valley Fair Association. Adult supervision is required for all riders, under the age of 18.
DOCUMENTS: A negative Coggins test is required and will accompany any equine coming onsite. Additional, all riders must sign both the Release of Liability and the Rules & Regulations forms PRIOR to using the facility.
ALCOHOL & DRUGS: Alcohol and drugs is not permitted on the Red River Valley Fair Association grounds. Anyone found drinking or doing drugs on the premises, be it in the arena, barn, stalls, etc. will be asked to vacate the premises without a refund. We are strictly a drug free and non-smoking facility.
FACILITIES: The Red River Valley Fair Association tries to maintain clean facilities for all guests. In retrospect, all members are expected to respect the property and maintain their areas. Please stay off grass areas, including the grass fields south of the barns. Remember to clean up after your animals and yourself. Be respectful to others’ property. Manure should be placed in provided bins around arena and barns.
EQUIPMENT: All equipment used during open riding must be returned to the designated equipment storage are in the arena – i.e. barrels, poles, or any other items used.
DOGS/PETS: Dogs are not allowed on grounds.
- Be courteous and friendly to other riders and Fair staff personnel
- All riders must sign a release form before riding
- Equine are not to be turned out loose or free lunged
- Please stay off grass areas, including grass fields south of the barns
- Open riders are NOT permitted in any of the barns and areas East or North of the Arena
- Manure should be placed in provided bins around arena and barns
- Clean up after your equine and yourself
- Be respectable to others’ property
- Always enter the fairgrounds through Gate 4 – the Livestock Entrance – off of Main Avenue
- Gates will be locked by 8:30 pm each night – All riders must be off the grounds by that time
VIOLATIONS: Please report any infractions of these rules to staff immediately. Any violation of these rules and regulations may result in immediate removal from the premises without a refund.
