WEST FARGO, N.D. – The Red River Valley Fair is now accepting nominations for their 2018 Hometown Hero Program. The Red River Valley Fair Hometown Hero program was created four years ago to honor local active duty or veteran military members.

The Red River Valley Fair is asking members of the community to nominate past or present members of the military, who they think have gone above and beyond for their country, family and community. Anyone who has served in the military and is still living is eligible.

The requirements for nomination are: nominees must still be living and must live within a 100 mile radius of Fargo, and they must be willing to attend the Red River Valley Fair on Thursday, July 12. Nominators will be asked to read their nomination entry onstage during the Hometown Hero ceremony, which will take place prior to the High Valley & Aaron Watson concert.

Nominations close on Thursday, May 31st. The winners will be selected by the Military Day Committee, and will be notified around June 15th. The winners will be recognized during the Hometown Hero ceremony on the grandstand stage, Thursday, July 12 during the Red River Valley Fair.
