West Fargo Convention Center Concept Study
The City of West Fargo and the Red River Valley Fair Association (RRVFA) are jointly conducting a concept study to determine the feasibility of building a convention center. The City of West Fargo and RRVFA are studying this concept because there is a significant need in the metro area for a convention center.
- It is estimated that the metro area loses out on many conventions a year due to limited space.
The addition of a convention center would bring in additional revenue for the area through sales and taxes.
The addition of a convention center at the RRVFA would provide an additional amenity for the RRVFA to market its operations for future events throughout the year.
The proposed convention center concept being studied includes:
- A hotel attached to the center to accommodate event guests. The concept calls for a 130-room hotel that would be built by a private developer.
In addition to the building details, this joint venture also requires an evaluation of funding and operations plans for the center, including:
- Long-term management of the center.
